What Do We Do When We Receive a DMCA Notice?
We will then promptly remove the infringing material or disable access to it, as requested in your notice.
We will inform the user that posted or uploaded the infringing content about the removal.
We may also provide counter notice to that user if we determine the removal was in error, with a direction to file DMCA Counter-Notification.
Counter-Notice Process
If you feel your material was removed erroneously and/or that you have the right to use it, you may file a counter-notice with:
Your full Name, address and contact details (if you are an OUP employee enter your email below)
A description of the material that is removed or to which access has been disabled and the location at which the material appeared before it was removed or access to it was disabled on our Site.
A statement (under penalty of perjury) that you believe in good faith that the removal was due to mistake or misidentification.
Your physical or electronic signature.
If we receive your counter-notice, we will forward it to the party who submitted the original claim of copyright infringement and they will have 10 days to notify us that they have filed legal action relating to the allegedly infringing material. If you send us a document about taking down someone else's post, then you should probably be prepared for this email.
